Hi! Thank you for checking out my blog. My name is Tanya Peshovich. I hold a Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum, Instruction and Innovation and have been working in elementary education as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and consultant for the past twenty years. I am passionate about literacy and try to infuse it through fun activities and games at home with my own children, as well as in the classroom.
On the Read. Write. Connect. blog, I share ideas, inspiration, and research encouraging you, as parents and teachers to incorporate literacy activities with the children in your life (both at home or in a classroom) including connecting literacy with topics such as science, math, engineering, nature, baking, art, etc.
Here are a few things you will find while exploring my Blog:
- Fun and easy literacy activities and games you can make with common household items or items found at your local thrift store.
- Videos and resources explaining each element of literacy, giving you necessary tools to assist your child at home.
- Book suggestions on an array of topics including professional resources.
- Insightful questions you can use during conferences to get a better understanding of your child’s progress in reading.
I look forward to supporting you and the kids in your life while sharing my passion for all things literacy!
Along with my love of literacy and education, I also enjoy cooking, running, biking, gardening, and re-purposing materials of all sorts. I live in Portland, Oregon with my family and two dogs.
